After Dark - Haruki Murakami I initially would have given this book four stars, but it kept sneaking up on me for days after I finished it, so I bumped it up to five. I was taken with the story of Eri Asai and her choice to sink into an unnaturally deep sleep, waking only to meet the basic needs to continue life. Was the man in the chair on television part of her unending dream? Sometimes I wish I could choose to sleep like that, to tune out the real world and live only in my dreams. Except then I'd pretty much be facing an unending zombie apocalypse, so maybe the real world isn't so bad after all.
